Sustainability in every shutter.

Our sustainability practice
At Long Island Shutters, sustainability isn’t a statement — it’s how we work every day. From responsibly sourced materials to thoughtful installation practices, we take pride in creating products that last, waste less, and respect the environment.
Our shutters are crafted from FSC-certified wood sourced from New Zealand, where sustainable forestry practices are integral to national policy. These forests are carefully managed to ensure continuous regrowth, protect biodiversity, and minimise environmental impact. By working with trusted suppliers like New Age Shutters, we know exactly where our materials come from and how they’re produced — giving our customers peace of mind as well as enduring quality.
How do we ensure sustainability with every installation?
All our shutters are made to measure, professionally installed, and protected by a 10-year warranty. From initial design to final fitting, everything is handled by our in-house team — no subcontractors, no shortcuts.

Built to last
We use durable, stable timber and meticulous fitting to reduce replacements and waste. Also, the 10-year warranty confirms long service with minimal maintenance.

Low-waste operations
Dust sheets and careful preparation minimise disruption and mess. Packaging is sorted for recycling; offcuts are responsibly reused or disposed of. An efficient workflow – with one visit for consultation and quote, and another for installation – reduces travel and energy use.

Made to measure, not mass produced
Every shutter is crafted for a specific window, so there is no surplus material. Precision fit ensures each component has a purpose and performs for years.

Family-run responsibility
Sustainability is a long-term commitment to customers, craft and planet. Design and environmental care go hand in hand for products that stand the test of time in quality and conscience.
