Long Island Shutters
Fitting

There are many ways to fit shutters, in the reveal on the reveal or on the outside the reveal all are possible.

Shutters are made square unless its for a particular shaped window a subsided or tilted window seal can not be hidden but there are ways to help. Frames are used mainly now as this offers the best way of fitting. Houses in Great Britain are 90% made of brick block and plastered. Plastering is never straight and using frames elevates many of the difficulties.

There is a DIY option measure correctly understand all the design options and contact us for advice.

Screw and hinges

HingesOur screws and hinges are especially made for our shutters and are all colour coded. Any combination of hinge and shutter can be ordered. In damp conditions we also provide marine grade stainless steel.

Tilt Rods

Tilt RodsLong Island Shutters are made in the traditional style using a tilt rod to open and close the blades. The tilt rod can be positioned in three places on the shutter. We also offer the option of having a concealed mechanism for a clean lined modern look. To open and close the blades simply move one and they all move together.

Sliding Tracks

Shutters and partitions can be installed in tracks. A spring loaded precision engineered roller enables the panels to glide smoothly across the ceiling or floor. These tracks can be fitted to the surface or hidden in a recess.
